I had a bit of trouble putting it together, sent a photo to my son Viola it was done, added stain just beautiful

It will do the job

What I did not like is the barrel bolts were not drilled fight and I had to improvise to make it more secure . We will plant vegetables in it .

Nice outdoor planter box

These appear sturdy enough and work well. But, be prepared to waterproof paint/seal the entire project whether used indoors or out. Takes two to transport.. unloaded.

It’s alright, but not great for the price.

Drill holes are partially pre drilled, when I opened it, the smell was so strong. When drilling, small parts crack a bit and some of the wood just pushes in like a sponge almost, the screw just keeps going because the wood is so soft. I overall am concerned that this might not be able to stand the weight of a full garden let alone rain when the rains come this spring. It’s super porous with no waterproof coating

Good for Lettuce. Herbs, and Flowers

Although this Best Choice Products free-standing planter box isn’t as large or robust as another brand I own, it offers a great value. I added this to my deck next to my existing herb garden box so that I could grow slug-free lettuce in the spring. In the heat of summer, I’ll replace the lettuce with flowers. It looks good — I chose the natural cedar — but will weather to gray with time. I chose not to seal it since I will be growing edibles. For that reason, I expect it to last for maybe 5 seasons.The actual dimensions are smaller than listed. The 48″ L measurement includes the caps, but, even including the caps, the width comes to only 23″. The interior of the box — that is, the growing space — measures 46″ L x 20″ W x 10″ D. The box is large enough to grow just about any herb as well as shallow rooted vegetables (bush beans, lettuce, radishes, peas, etc.) and flowers. Depending on how high you want to fill the box, it will take at least 3 and maybe a little more 1.5 cu. ft. bags of raised bed soil. The included thin fabric liner was too high for mine, and I had to trim it to make it less visible.I like that two of the bottom slats contain drainage holes and that the slats don’t fit together tightly, leaving a couple 1/2″ gaps. This prevents the garden bed from becoming a pond in heavy rains. I can also tell when I’m watering deeply since the water starts coming out of the bottom. With the liner in place, soil does not leak with the water.The instructions say that it should take one person 20 minutes to assemble. While it is indeed easy and all the parts fit together well, I would allow 30 minutes if you use an electric screwdriver, 45 if you use a manual one. I had no problem with misaligned holes or cracked slats. Without soil, the box is light enough for one person to lift.I like this raised garden box, even if I prefer the better-built but also more expensive older one. For me, this provides a great, economical way to expand the growing space outside my back door.– Debbie Lee Wesselmann

Nice planter but wood will expand

We have two of these planters and really like them. They are sturdy, attractive and a nice addition to our greenhouse. We did have a problem with the one from last year which was unexpected. The base plates expanded so greatly that they pushed the legs out of their slots on one side of the planter; with the screws ripping through the wood tangs that held it together. The wood was wet for an extended period of time and we didn’t notice the damage until we moved it late this winter. We disassembled that side, shortened one of the base plates by an inch and a half, and reassembled it. We will probably cut the base plates on the new planter we just ordered to take this into account.
