Can rack

I like the refrigerator a lot, except the can dispenser bars in ours are mounted upside down, with the opening at the top instead of the bottom, and the freezer is not self-defrosting.

Super quiet — Great layout — Low running cost — Built well — DO NOT RUN FIRST 24 HOURS

Summing up — This well-designed, well-built, attractive compact fridge is unbelievably quiet, has a great layout, especially of the door, and delivers way beyond its price. Good insulation and premium door seals make it very economical in use.CAUTION — Remember to let your refrigerator sit for 24 hours before first use after installation. This essential step is to let all refrigerant drain to the bottom. Your fridge may have been transported on its side or, in my case, upside down. The separate freezer compartment gets very cold, close to zero degrees Fahrenheit even at medium settings. Such a low temperature would be impossible to achieve in a single door design. The tradeoff here is that you give up some space. The glass shelves look elegant and are well thought out. The door seals are so good that defrosting comes down to maybe once a year.(And applying an occasional light coat of vaseline on the door seals will help them last longer.)The lower door can hold regular bottles unlike so many of today's compact refrigerator doors that only take canned soft drinks. This makes this particular refrigerator ideal for the kitchen, studio apartment or college dorm. The door hinges can be moved to the left side as I had to do.Finally, it is so quiet that you have to hold your ear close to hear it run.It comes unusually well packaged in a sturdy box, virtually eliminating the chance of damage during transport. This company cares!Energy Star-certified, energy consumption of this fridge is estimated at 220 kWh per year, $35 or so depending on where you live. Power draw is 80 Watts, but remember it runs at a low duty cycle. Actual cost varies with temperature, humidity, and how often you open it.Update 1/24 — This fridge looks and acts like new even after three years of continuous use. 'Thrilled with this purchase.

    So far so good!

Delivered, upright...in perfect shape for a heavy package (Well packaged in original manuf. boxing-only)....I let the fridge unit rest for 24 hours (Important-you have no idea if it was laid horizontally during shipping!). Fits perfect between my kitchen countertop end and dining area. Plugged in and working great to chill my necessities --- beer and water...I fit 16 miller lite bottles, 18 water bottles, a red bull, 12 oz lime and 1 litre Soda in the fridge!!! Be sure to not allow anything in the fridge to touch the back wall or it will freeze! Hopefully, without an automatic frost-free feature - the unit will not to be difficult to maintain.Important!! -- Stack bottled beer starting from the bottom right of the shelf (against thermostat control) as indicated in my first picture and carefully place the next layer starting from the left of the last beer below --> to avoid broken bottles!Appears to be high quality stainless steel doors- matches my other stainless appliances perfectly. Freezer is well sized - Definitely better to have 2 doors - I like to easily slip a beer or two from the fridge into the freezer door shelf for about 20 minutes and then serve Ice Cold!It would be nice if the power cord was an additional 1-2 feet, but mostly ample.I was searching for a small refrigerator/freezer with a built in icemaker, but they were ridiculous expensive. I ordered an inexpensive Stainless Steel countertop icemaker-- $119.99 Euhomy Ice Maker --> to set on top of the fridge unit. Very convenient to access the ice tray at counter-top level above the fridge unit and makes ice fast....I will follow up with a more thorough review.

    Not the Best

I bought this fridge for my RV because of its energy efficiency and I wanted a white one which is limited. Most are black or stainless anymore.First the thermostat seems to be all over the place. I can't seem to find a sweet spot and I'm using a thermometer to watch it and waiting 24 hours. Anything that touches the back wall freezes. I've owned four dorm fridges in the past and I liked other ones better. The can thing in the door is poorly designed. You have to load cans from the bottom. They won't fit through the top. I would prefer shelves there instead. The light to the fridge flickers sometimes when the compressor is on.What I like? The freezer works well. Door seals seem good. It looks good from the outside. Package arrived quick and unharmed.

Great small fridge for the price

I live in a studio apartment and I wanted a fridge wity a freezer. This little dude definitely delivers. The inside of the fridge and freezer are a bit deeper than many models of the same cost. This is a wonderful feature if you like to cook but live in a tiny space. It also comes very nicely packaged and is super snug to unload.I also really like that it comes with an ice scraper. Scraping out the ice once a week from the freezer helps with long term use and defrosting when the time comes. This was a wonderful buy, and for the cost I am very pleased. I would definitely recommend this model over most mini fridges which have the freezer and fridge portion in the same door. I appreciate the balance of the space. I have noticed I never have to keep the fridge more cool than the medium setting on the dial. This is another wonderful feature because it keeps my food evenly cold. Overall great buy for any use.

Quiet enough, but could be quieter

To be fair, it's not noisy. Actually, I am not sure if there is any fridge on this planet that's quieter than this product. But I still hope Midea can make the compressor even quieter. I may be that type of consumer that's hard to please, but I can still hear it at a level that prevent me from falling asleep as fast as if it's quiet when my head is 6 feet away from it and I have to move my bed so my head is 12 feet away from it for the noise to half. At that level, the speed of me falling asleep is not significantly affected. When I am working during the day, the noise are still a bummer, and I have to turn on some music to cover it. Light music is enough - no loud music needed. If you don't turn on the music, that low level of groaning sound in the background is still difficult to ignore and your ear will just keep picking it up which can be (slightly) distracting. But sometimes if I am really concentrating, that noise doesn't get filtered in somehow.I think the issue is mini fridges all have to work harder than their larger counterparts and this makes them literally working non-stop (literally 24/7). My midea never stops working. Not a second. The larger fridge are louder when they are working, but most of the time they don't work and it's only when you open the fridge for a while searching for food that they start to work to replenish the lost cool.Update: There is one minor issue - that frosting tends to accumulate on the back panel of the fridge compartment. To battle this issue, I regularly turns the fridge off and the frosting will go in 12 hours. Further, to prevent them from accumulating, I adjust the knob to "minimum cool". It's a small fridge so even the minimum coolness will be enough.

Worked for icecream ..I have a witness

It hardened my soft ice cream on my 2.5 hour journey. ( I have this mini fridge-frezzer installed with inverter in my minivan as part of my setup...let's see if it works. 1st test) I had earlier bought a 1/2 gallon of ice cream put in regular ice cooler in a different car. When I got home I put it in home freezer but in journey back home the ice cream had gotten a little soft. Prior to putting in home freezer I had my wife feel the 1/2 gallon of ice cream to see how soft it was...she acknowledged. Prior to leaving home I had mini fridge pre chilling..running off home extension cord with a bottle of frozen water in freezer to pre-freeze the mini freezer for 3 hours plus. Switched ice cream from home freezer to mini fridge freezer (icecream still soft..wife acknowledging..needed a witness) left on our 2.5 hour journey and when we arrived I pull out icecream and it was firm-wife acknowledging. My plan of the mini fridge with freezer had worked as hoped and envisioned for traveling with icecream. The fridge part also worked. Now our trips to the drive in theaters will be that more enjoyable .Note on fridge glass holding trays I did stick some little plastic transparent sticky button size little pads: 2 on each bottom side of the glass trays to dampen road bumps and potholes as to keep the glass from beating up and down against the plastic holding slots. And mini fridge freezer is quiet.**Thanks to you who had reviewed earlier on this purchase it helped big time in making my decision to purchase and that's why I've reviewed.

    Nice little fridge

Fridge arrived slightly damaged in one corner, but doesn't seem to affect anything. Set it to Medium and it hit 40F in a couple of hours. Loaded it with food and it was back down to 40F the next morning.Freezer: Has ample room for a unit this size.Refer: The storage in the door is a joke. It was so bad it made me laugh. The rack that I assume is to hold soda cans is almost non-functional. No thought whatsoever was given to it's design. You can get the cans in there, but you will probably give up before it's filled. And that's after you've taken the time to form a battle plan. However, getting the cans out is pretty easy to do. So, half the door storage space is pretty much gone. The back of the refer interior is where it gets it's cold from. Anything making contact with it will freeze. They conveniently included an ice scraper for scraping both the freezer and fridge.Oddly, the top, bottom and sides of it are covered with clear plastic like you find stuck to the screen of a brand new smartphone. Presumably to protect the finish, but I've never seen that on a fridge before. It's a real pleasure to peel off, if you're into that sort of thing.Overall, I don't feel it was wasted money. It's quiet and pleasing to the eye. And most importantly, it keeps things nice and cold/frozen.I gave it 4 stars and not 5 because of the refer door fiasco and the freezing in the back of the fridge.

They conveniently included an ice scraper for scraping both the freezer and fridge.Oddly, the top, bottom and sides of it are covered with clear plastic like you find stuck to the screen of a brand new smartphone. Presumably to protect the finish, but I’ve never seen that on a fridge before. It’s a real pleasure to peel off, if you’re into that sort of thing.Overall, I don’t feel it was wasted money. It’s quiet and pleasing to the eye. And most importantly, it keeps things nice and cold/frozen.I gave it 4 stars and not 5 because of the refer door fiasco and the freezing in the back of the fridge.

    Happy So Far!!

Bought this for work. Keeps yogurt, juices, water cold (38 degrees in the fridge section, and 15 below zero in the freezer compartment (I bought thermometers for both sections). I defrost the unit once a month (takes about an hour). Bought the extended warranty just in case, but so far there have been no issues. I’m happy with this unit.

    Can't beat this fridge

Simple as that. Amazing price for the size and separate freezer. Gets very cold, actually so cold things in fridge freeze on coldest setting. A little over medium keeps frozen things frozen but doesn't freeze the fridge items. Still, i find it useful to cram a shopping bag to the back to insulate a dozen eggs, or the back 2 to 4 might freeze and break. Super minor everyday life stuff. Great fridge. Been using as main fridge in cabin for 3 years. Getting another for my son.
