Not a good buy!

I was so excited to get a beverage frige so I could free up our main refrigerator for actual food. The reality was terribly disappointing. It arrived in great time and the packaging was really well done with multiple layers cardboard and polystyrene. But from the moment I opened the box though and found an extremely poorly manufactured appliance, I was let down. The stainless steel door frame was dented and scratched, the defrost tray was half hanging off the back, the cold plate was screwed on crooked, and the black interior was scratched. I was planning to keep it anyway because most of the flaws were cosmetic and I propped the defrost tray up so it would hold the run-off. I could tell the condition of the appliance was done at the manufacture level because the packaging was not damaged. I really hated the idea of packing it back up and going through the trouble of getting it shipped back. I mean it's 70 pounds. So anyway, it seemed to work ok to begin with. I really liked the LED interior lighting. I liked that I could adjust the shelving so easily to accomodate larger bottles. But by week three, it was no longer keeping the drinks cold all the time. So I sent it back and this time I'm trying the Danby which is about the same size and $100 cheaper.Again this arrived in good time in really good packaging, but I think this was previously used and refurbished because, again, the stainless door frame was scratched up and the interior showed residue of previous use. Also, the glass door is slightly scratched. What is wrong with these manufacturers?!? $200 to $300 is a lot of money for the average family! They certainly don't respect their consumers. I do have to say that the general quality of the Danby is much better than the $100 more expensive Newair. The door on the Danby is of sturdier construction, the cooling apparatus is very well made, I love that the Danby's interior light comes on when you open the door instead of having to flip the switch each time like on the Newair. The Danby's cold plate runs down the back almost to the bottom as well as it having an interior fan to move the cool air around (unlike the Newair which had the smaller cold plate crooked towards the top only). I also like the wire shelves have a black plastic coating which has a nicer look. All in all, I was not happy with the Newair. I would not buy it again.

I Doubt This Fridge Comfortably Holds 126 Cans Of Beverages & Keeps Them All Equally Cold

It says that this fridge can hold 126 cans. But, really, the instruction manual contradicts that because it warns you in so many words to not fill it so much to where the cans will be blocking "the cooling fans" that are inside the fridge. I have not seen any fans in there. Just thick plastic layers of cold, whatever they are, inside the fridge. I don't know where the fans are so I can avoid blocking them & the manual doesn't say where the fans are. I am also mislead on the same token, where the image & picture here on Amazon shows that this fridge is packed full to the gills, left, right, front to back & center with beverage cans. Yet, again, as I mentioned earlier, that it says in the manual, to not block the cooling fan(s) so that all the beverages can stay cool. So I know, or have no doubt, that this fridge can handle 126 cans of beverages on it's face value, but can it really hold that much if the manual says that the owner needs to tone down the amount that goes into the fridge since the owners manual warns to not block the cooling fans inside the fridge? I am confused! A picture here on Amazon of this fridge being packed to capacity with cold can beverages, but the owner's manual says to not do that & to leave room for the cooling fans to circulate in the fridge to assure that all the beverages equally remain cold & that no cans will be blocking the fans to impede upon those cooling fans from doing their jobs in making sure that you drinks remain cold & frosty at all times.I had a "Magic Chef" refrigerator & it held less & it had a small freezer at the top & the thing leaked & dripped & a pool of melted ice & water rested on the bottom level of the inside of the fridge, so this mini fridge here is a step up from that Magic Chef nightmare fridge & just 86'd. I wish the owner's manual would say precisely how many cans of beverages should be on each shelf & which ones need to be standing up vertically & which cans would be best suited laying down horizontally on the shelf as it describes in that picture.I drink 1 liter bottles of Dr. Pepper so I not only put cans of soda into my mini fridge here, but can comfortably fit about 8 of the 1 liter bottles of drinks on any given shelf as well. The plastic bottles take up more room than the aluminum cans, so that dramatically drops the capacity of beverages down quite a bit if you plan on putting 1 liter bottles into this mini fridge. But, overall, this is a pretty good mini fridge despite the misleading picture depicting the mini fridge being packed to the rafters with beverages & then the owner's manual refuting that pictorial claim by rebutting it with suggesting to not fill it that full & to leave room for the cooling fans. But, this thing is an Okay buy, I guess. ...Better than my messy, watery, drippy Magic Chef mini fridge!

    Excellent quality and very affordable!

Excellent quality at a very affordable price. We let it sit for 2 days after receiving it before we plugged it in. Once plugged in we waited a day before grabbing a water out with the temp set at 6. Water was nice and cold. LED light works great but does not turn automatically. It has an on off switch. Looks great lit up. Would buy again for sure.

    Keeps drinks cold

The fridge is overall pretty good. I like the way that it looks, you can customize the shelving to what you want/your needs. The shelves are an odd size, in the fact that you cant actually load them up in perfect rows if you care about that. You either put enough cans in a zigzag pattern to maximize the space available or you put them in rows but leave what feels like a lot of unused space. It will keep drinks cold but will take a long time to get them there (think at least a full 24 hours). Once the drinks are chilled its fantastic at keeping them that way.I would recommend this to anyone looking to get a beverage fridge for cans/bottles and you want it to look nice and professional.**UPDATE**A year into owning this fridge it just quit. The interior light started blinking on and off but it wouldn't cool worth a lick. I made sure it had plenty of room around the exterior for cooling and evaporation. I also made sure that the back of the fridge was clean and not clogged with dust/hair. Nothing would get it to cool. I called their customer service who with very minimal description on my part said it was the temperature probe/thermostat that needed to be replaced. They said they would happily replace it for free if I wrote them a positive review. The first customer service agent then never sent the order for the part so I had to call them back and do it all over again a week later. When the part arrived it was easy to install. I do think its a total design flaw though. They ship the fridge from the factory pretty much designed to fail. The connection between the thermostat and the circuit board basically hangs in the fridge behind the cooling coils. It WILL corrode and need to be replaced. When they send the replacement they send some of the aluminum tape so you can shove the connection into the hole towards the circuit board and tape it off from the cooling/moist elements of the fridge. I don't know if they designed it this way on purpose to try and fish for positive reviews or if its a known issue that they figure they can profit off of. Either way you will probably need to fix it a year or so into owning.Since being fixed it is running/cooling well. I still like the way that it looks and the temperature at which it keeps the drinks cold.

Works BUT | Storage is HALF of advertised 126 cans | Fridge is loud | Poor design decisions

EXPECTATION: Store 126 cans.REALITY: You can only realistically use 3 shelves of the 5 at a time to store cans, unless you're storing them sideways. The instructions also clearly state to not overfill the fridge, and to not push cans to the back, otherwise airflow is reduced (there are no fans) and there will be frost buildup (along with uneven cooling). With that in mind, this fridge can only realistically hold about HALF of the stated 126 cans. 63 cans is still nice, but nowhere near the advertised amount.EXPECTATION: The fridge is silent / makes minimal noise.REALITY: I set up the fridge making sure it was level, left it upright for 24 hours before turning it on, and after turning it on did not put anything in it or adjust any settings for another 24 hours. The fridge is set up in an area with over a foot of space on every side. When the fridge kicks on to cool, it makes an EXTREMELY loud humming noise, and a whirring noise. Once it reaches the desired temperature, it kicks off and is completely silent. Unfortunately, the noise it does make is so loud we absolutely cannot put this in a room where we want to watch TV/movies, have conversations, relax, etc., It is annoying and headache inducing. This is absolutely NOT a quiet fridge, and any expectation of silence should be tempered, despite what is advertised.EXPECTATION: The fridge was designed to store Cans specifically.REALITY: There are some really poor design decisions for cans. Including:- The bottom "shelf" is really a metal cage you have to carefully fit cans in, usually putting them in horizontally and then flipping them. To compound this problem, the metal "cage" has sharp edges -- I have punctured a number of cans already trying to get them in and out of this area. It makes absolutely ZERO sense to have this kind of "cage" for storing aluminum cans and is anything but convenient. I've resorted to putting plastic bottles here sideways because I can't risk puncturing and spilling a cans contents everywhere.- The second shelf from the bottom is not a full metal rack shelf, but half metal rack that "rests" on the plastic backing. Unfortunately, the plastic backing portion is higher than the front plastic rests, so this shelf is always tilted frontward. Every time I shut the door, put a can in, take a can out, etc., EVERYTHING that resides on this shelf slips forward. Sometimes cans easily fall off the shelf and out of the fridge. Another wacky decision I absolutely don't understand.Ultimately, this fridge does a fine job at cooling canned beverages, and I cannot complain about the primary functionality. However, pretty much everything else about it is really frustrating.UPDATE: 2 months later and the fridge has settled in and makes less noise than it did at the start, so I'm happy about that. Unfortunately, I've encountered two large design flaws and updated my review. I will not be returning my fridge, but I also can't recommend anyone buy this.

Has minor issues, but may be just OK………….

Well, it may be better than OK, but the jury is out, as I just received it last night and just started it about 2 hours ago. I did find a couple of issues, however.First, it arrived with the catch tray for the evaporation from the cooling coil misallocated and broken, with a 1 inch hole in it. However, the pieces were in the bottom of the unit, so I used RTV Silicone gasket sealer, along with the broken pieces, to fix it. I also called Amazon to report it, and as I was willing to fix it and keep it, Amazon gave me an $87.50 refund for the damage! Go Amazon! The next issue was the door, which is made similar to most refer units, so that one can remove the hinges, move them to the other side, & have the door open in the reverse direction. But, the makers obviously didn't think anyone would actually do this, as it is necessary to turn the door upside down when doing this to get the holes in the door on the same side as the hinges. This would be no big deal, were it not for the fact that they have glued they're logo onto the front of the door's glass, and now that I reversed the door, that logo is upside down, and at the top of the door, where it's very obvious. I'll attempt to remove it and glue it back on right side up, but not until I'm sure the unit is sound and won't need to be returned. Also, the door has a recessed handle for opening that is supposed to be on the top edge of the door. Reversing the door has put this handle at the bottom. Were I using this sitting on the floor, that would mean the handle is all the way down at the bottom near the floor! Fortunately, for me, I had planned to use this on a shelf, and that puts the handle at about waist height. So, in my situation, it wasn't a problem. For other folks, wishing to place the unit on the floor and needing to reverse the door, it will be a small problem. However, were it eliminated all together, one cold still easily open the door by simply grabbing its edge. The handle is mostly a silly gimmicky afterthought, in the first place.Perhaps my biggest concern, though, is a strange, almost gurgling noise that the unit makes while running. It has become a bit less pronounced since it's been running, and may eventually fade away. Or, it may be indicative of a serious problem that could see the compressor, or the motor, failing in a short time. So, I may have an update to this review in future. Stay tuned!

Upgrade your shipping method or it will come damaged!!!

**Upgrade your shipping option or it will probably come damaged. Just read other reviews and you will know I am right.Item is just ok. It was a little bigger than others for the price I got it for. And reviews a little better than comparable ones.ProsDoes get temperature low enough for drinks.Good size, looks good.Cons-Packaging for shipping is not strong enough to handle UPS shipping method used. You'll be lucky to get yours undamaged. My first one was damaged beyond repair. The shipping was upgraded for the second one and it had no shipping damage.-Company should realize by now that packaging doesn't stand up to standard UPS shipping. Either they file UPS claims instead of better packaging, or they aren't bright enough to figure it out from their reviews. Which is it?-Having soda cans near the back will sometimes cause them to freeze (The cooling is done along the back)-Can't stock it like it shows in the photo.-Set mine on 6.5 out of 7 on the dial and the thermometer I have near the front usually reads between 39 and 40 degrees. ( On 7 things near the back froze too easy. Still can freeze on 6.5)-Amazon entry is misleading. The photo of the one that is within the cabinet space is a different model that costs roughly double. This model can't go in a cabinet space due to lack of ventilation.-Takes a long time to cool down (1/2 to 1 day for a full load) after loading a good amount of items in it.-Could be quieter but wasn't expecting much since it is a cheaper model.

    Great beer fridge

Great for a beer drinker to keep beer out of the way of real food. Very handy and quiet.

    Great for craft beer

I bought this fridge for my husband Christmas 2022. So far it has been working well and he is able to fit a decent amount of craft beer as well as regular height beer cans in this fridge. You do need to rearrange the shelves a bit in order to fit the taller cans but for what he wanted it for, it works. The temp has been keeping steady but we also made sure to let it sit for a while once it arrived before plugging it in. May be a little loud if you are keeping it in area where you are Al the time, like a kitchen or dining room, but it doesn’t bother us as we keep it in the basement bar area. Would recommend if you are looking for an affordable beer fridge.
