Holy Grail of Tool Sets!

I have decided to start over with my collection of misfitted and multiples of different branded tools by placing an order for STARWORK 303 Piece Mechanics Professional SAE Metric Tool Set. As a workaround DIY Handy person I am so far removed from being a Professional in need of Mechanics tools – That being said I still like to be prepared for anything that may challenge my average mechanical abilities when it comes to fixing/ repairing things that tend to pop up weekly.This tool set does not require one to be Professional to own – it just highlights the important fact that when it comes to Wrenches, Ratchets, Sockets, Extension Bars, Hex Keys (SAE/Metric), and/or Nut Drivers (SAE/Metric) this tool set has all one would ever need and then some to complete a task in a manner that will save time, energy, frustrations, and all other emotions and distaste when not having a proper tool or having to search for a tool and not owning the correct size whether it be SAE (Society of Automotive Engineers – wrenches & sockets sized in inches and fractions of inches used for primarily on cars made in USA) or Metric (Metric Measurement System – wrenches & sockets are measured in millimeters mostly used on imported cars).This is an extensive tool set consisting of:• Twenty 90-Tooth Ratcheting Wrenches (upgrade from an 84-Tooth standard ratchet set – however lower than a 120-ratchet set that professional mechanics may use). 90-Tooth Ratchets have a 4° arc swing vs. 120-Tooth Ratchet which has a 3°arch swing. 90-Tooth ratchet with the 4°arch swing is great to have when working in tight spaces …• Three most popular 90-Tooth Quick Release Ratchets (1/4-inch, 3/8-inch, and 1/2-inch)• Twenty-Two Hex Keys (Short SAE/Metric Set)• 18 Hey Keys (Long SAE/Metric Set)• Fourteen Nut Drivers (SAE/Metric)• Twenty Mini Wrenches (SAE/METRIC)• Entire listing of SAE & Metric Sockets from the smallest to the largest in numbers and regular in size to deep well sockets + special sockets to remove spark plugs.In the past finding sockets and keeping them organized was difficult. With this large set of tools problem is solved in that all sized tools are identified on the tool also in the specially designed carry box that has a formed slot for each tool listing. The carrycase with all the tools stored in their proper slots weigh in at 29lbs. The tool set is on the heavy side and understandably so for all tools this carry case stages and keeps organized in one place. One thing that I found concerning was the sockets if not pushed firmly into the nub of the carry case will spill out when attempting to close the lid (happened my first time closing the case).This is a no need tool set, once purchase one will have no need to purchase another tool if one needs a ratchet, wrench, socket, extension bar, and/or hex key. Eliminate the overstuffed too bag with this set that includes a carry case that keeps all the tools organized and in size marked order. This tool set is protected from corrosion, has the strength and durability that one would expect from a premium chrome vanadium steel tool set.I have enjoyed using this tool set during my latest honey dew weekend projects and appreciate the added value this affordable tool set provides when compared to other nationally branded tool sets.Recommend Purchase/ Buy if wanting to have a tool for any and all occasions that requires the use of a wrench, socket, ratchet, hex keys. If looking to have tools organized and kept in safe keeping this tool set will do the job.

Outstanding Tool Set — So Far!

I needed a portable tool set to keep in my car for repair emergencies during trips and for all-around use when away from home. Not since I purchased my home Sears Craftsman tool sets many years ago have I seen anything with such similar build quality. This set looks outstanding, with excellent craftsmanship and chrome plating. It beats the Husky tools I’ve purchased from Home Depot hands down. The range of tools, bits, and sockets are sufficient for just about any household or shop work. My only cause for concern so far is that one of the Phillips screwdriver bits chipped right off while screwing in a stainless steel bolt — a much softer metal than the driver bit should have been made of (see photo). I’ll continue to use these tools and update my review if the test of time warrants it. But so far, these tools otherwise look and perform fantastic.TIP: ONLY open this toolkit with the “Starworks” lid facing up and the name visible. The sockets will not all stay in place if you open this upside down. Trust me, pay attention to this or you’ll be sorry!TIP: The foam sheet in the toolkit helps keep the smaller sockets from coming loose when carrying the case. I knew the foam would not hold up for long in a hot car trunk, so I cut a cardboard insert for that purpose which works great (see photo).TIP: This is a great screwdriver and socket set, but not complete if you are looking for an all-around road kit like I was. You’ll also want to add a small toolbox with: Hammer, pliers, needle-nose pliers, wire cutters, utility knife, measuring tape, and maybe a small jeweler’s screwdriver set.The bottom line is that this has been an outstanding tool set so far. Time will tell if the quality is as good as it looks.

Overall impressed with this tool set case – it’s largely a socket set with some additional tools added, including some ratcheting wrenches, micro wrenches, pliers, allen/hex keys, and screwdriver and bits. I own several similar sets, and have to say that I’m Impressed with the quality and finish which appear more than commensurate with the price and comparable to some prosumer name brand sets. The fit and finish of the chrome vanadium sockets is excellent, and the ratchets are of reasonable quality – the ratchet pawl feels a looser than I’d expect from a high end pro grade ratchet, but completely inline with what I’d expect from a typical consumer grade ratchet. The same can be said for the ratcheting wrenches, and isn’t really a criticism, just noting that they’re not pro grade imo. Returning to the ratchets, I confirmed all three have 90 teeth on the gear, which allows for a smaller arch swing (4 degrees) in tighter spaces, than the older standard 84 tooth ratchet. They also have a quick release button. The quality of most of the other pieces are good, but the fit and finish on the pliers is a bit unfinished/sharp – as in the edges of the metal parts of the tool are sharper than I like, and could cause injury if used haphazardly, but can be easily fixed by gently running a file over it. Minor quibble, but a notable difference between these and prograde or even good consumer grade pliers. However, it’s not unexpected for tools that come in a kit in this price range, so I wouldn’t let it adversely affect your decision, and they’re better quality than you’d get in many other similarly priced kits.As a socket set, it has everything you’d reasonably expect, including a nice selection of deep sockets, but it’s missing a couple of the larger sockets sizes like 15/16 or 1” – it only goes up to 7/8″ and 22mm but that should be more than sufficient for the vast majority of users. The inclusion of three pliers, micro wrenches, and ratcheting wrenches are also a welcome addition, and really help in those tight spaces, and with the inclusion of the screwdriver and bits, makes for a fairly well rounded socket tool set.The case with these kits is arguably just as important as the tools they hold. Fortunately, this set comes with a nice solid blow molded case where all the pieces clip/lock into place. After shipping, only six pieces were slightly out of place – three wrenches, and three sockets, but they remained in their respective places by the included foam divider. Ensure you do not throw the foam away, as it’s needed to ensure everything stays in their spot should it pop out of its place – this is typical for such cases, but some people make the mistake of not keeping the divider. The case also has four good bi-hindge latches, which lock solid, and a large easy grip handle. No major criticisms, but I note that the case only has two small exposed hinges – optimally, given the size and weight of the case, I’d prefer if these hinges were larger or if there were three or four. The hinges are exposed, so I’d recommend being careful in transit or storing to ensure they don’t get damaged given the weight of the case .Final Thought: Overall impressed and good value, as compared to other similar sets including those markets by prosumer big brands. Not professional quality, but no issues fully recommending for DIY prosumers or pro’s on a budget.

This 260-piece version of this socket set includes everything I typically need for my car and home works.This tool kit is more than enough that I use to fix a small problem for my car.This set is amazingly high quality, the case is super strong and has four latches to keep it close. Then, tools and sockets if very well secured in the case, no worries about anything falling outRecommend Purchas if someone wants to have a tool for any and all occasions that requires the use of a wrench, socket, ratchet, or hex keys. If you’re looking to have tools organized and kept safe keeping, then this tool set will do the job.

This is my first complete socket set I’ve owned. I normally used to purchase the common socket ina small pack but tend to displace them often. I often come across different vague sizes and I do not have the proper size for it. This set has everything. I love that the sockets have their individual spot in the case and do not move. I did have trouble with the Allen wrench sets as they had a hard time staying put in their respective places and kept popping out. The case is heavy and it is big. All the tools and sockets are durable and made with chrome vanadium steel. The chrome is rust resistant and does not corrode. I like the different sized ratcheting wrenches. They give a nice satisfying click and work well. The socket sizes are etched on the sockets themselves and also on the molded case. This is easy to help you pick and find the needed socket as well as to put them back. This kit is worth its value and it has served me well so far.

This set is fantastic I can’t say enough good things.From the ratchets to the set of wrenches everything is well designed. Minimal where possible but robust where needed.The handles of the ratchets and wrenches fit nice in the hand and the controls are easy to access.I am so happy to have this set in my garage.

I bought these tools for my new project so I have more of a choice to use for different tasks they are well packed and good storage they feel good and are easy to use

weak ratchet wrenches

1/4 inch ratchet broke first time using sadly along with the 13 mm ratcheting wrench while putting a ford door on the mechanism failed. so….. not a horrible tool kit but very skep on the ratcheting wrenches sadly

This is a phenomenal tool kit. Comprehensive and outstanding quality. Very happy.
